About
I am a director of the Center for the Philosophy of Nature and Science Studies (http://www.nbi.dk/~natphil/) at the Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen.
I'm a part of an international network of researchers devoted to the study of living processes as sign processes (biosemiotics, see http://www.biosemiotics.org/ ).
I'm also interested in history, philosophy and social studies of science, and science policy.
I co-edit one Danish (http://professorvaelde.blogspot.com) and one International (http://universitypolitics.blogspot.com) group blog, made to claim universities as a public good in democratic societies, and to contest and challenge the increasing dominance of the academic capitalist knowledge regime over the classic public good university. We are trying to support academic freedom, free inquiry and higher education as public goods.
